Kitchen Cabinet Transformation: Repairs, Refinishing & a Like New Finish

A full kitchen renovation isn't always necessary to completely transform a space. With professional cabinet refinishing, even worn and damaged cabinets can be given a beautiful new look at a fraction of the cost of replacing them.

For this project, our team completed a full kitchen cabinet repaint, including extensive surface repairs, meticulous preparation, and a smooth, glass-like finish that completely refreshed the space.

The Challenge: Years of Wear & Tear

Kitchen cabinets take a beating over the years. Constant use, moisture, cooking, and everyday accidents can leave even high-quality cabinetry looking tired and worn.

This kitchen had several areas requiring attention, including water damage, scratches, scuffs, dents, and chipped finishes.

Simply painting over these imperfections would only highlight them beneath the new coating. To achieve the smooth, factory-like finish we were aiming for, we first needed to address the underlying damage.

Extensive Repairs & Surface Preparation

Before any painting began, our team carefully inspected the cabinetry and identified areas requiring repairs.

The preparation process included repairing damaged sections, filling dents and chips, sanding uneven surfaces, and addressing areas affected by moisture.

Once the repairs were complete, we thoroughly cleaned, sanded, and prepared the cabinets to create the ideal foundation for the new coating.

With cabinet refinishing, the quality of the preparation directly impacts the quality of the finished product. Taking the extra time to address imperfections is what allows us to achieve the smooth, professional results our clients expect.

Protecting Your Kitchen From Overspray & Fumes

One of the most important parts of professional cabinet refinishing happens before the first coat of paint is applied.

Spraying cabinets creates an incredibly smooth finish, but it also requires extreme care to protect your home from overspray and fumes.

Our team meticulously masks and protects all surrounding surfaces, including countertops, appliances, flooring, and walls. You don't even need to empty your cabinets! We carefully seal off cabinet openings with protective paper and plastic, keeping your belongings safely protected throughout the process.

We also use a professional negative-air ventilation system equipped with HEPA filtration to capture airborne paint particles and exhaust contaminated air outside. This helps prevent overspray from spreading throughout your home while significantly reducing lingering paint fumes.

Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are removed for separate preparation and finishing, while the fixed cabinetry is carefully protected and refinished in place.

The result is a beautifully refinished kitchen with minimal disruption, exceptional attention to detail, and extensive protection for your home and belongings.

Achieving a Glass-Like Finish

The goal of this project wasn't simply to change the cabinet colour. We wanted to deliver a finish that looked and felt like brand-new cabinetry.

Through careful surface preparation, professional spray application, and high-quality cabinet coatings, we achieved a beautifully smooth, glass-like finish with minimal visible brush marks or roller texture.

The result was a dramatic transformation that gave the entire kitchen a cleaner, brighter, and more modern appearance.

A Complete Kitchen Refresh Without Replacing the Cabinets

The finished kitchen is a great example of how much impact professional cabinet refinishing can have.

By repairing the existing damage and applying a beautiful new finish, we were able to breathe new life into the cabinetry while preserving the existing kitchen layout.
